Prop 8 Documentary in the Works at HBO. ENDA Passes Senate Committee Vote. Tony Kushner Recieves National Medal of Arts and Humanities from Obama. And a Funny, Awesome Video to Boot.

The DOMA and Prop 8 cases are far from being forgotten, even though we won. On that note, HBO is planning a documentary which will cover the overturn of California's Prop 8. The documentary doesn't have a title yet, but it's completion is planned for the end of this year. So we'll probably get to see it early next year. Should be something, can't wait!

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) has passed the Senate Committee with 15 votes for and 7 against. While states reserve their right to propose and approve bills which ban discrimination on sexual orientation and gender identity, federal law does not. This translates into a total of 33 states in which you can be discriminated based on those factors alone at your workplace. The full Senate will vote on the bill in fall, many being very optimistic about the result, given the fast approval in Committee.

The very popular HBO mini-series "Angels in America", based on the play written by Tony Kushner has been a tremendous success in its day. The play itself is still being performed off Broadway to this day in local theaters across the country and, its creator, Kushner, has been publicly acknowledged now that President Obama offered him the National Medal of Arts and Humanities. Congratulations Tony - you deserve it!

Finally, there's this awesome video, posted by the guys at Scotch Tape in collaboration with College Humor, the very guys responsible for this video, which came as a response to this video. Watch it bellow:
